Domain Registration Information
- NITC registers .gov.np domain only for government offices and organizations.
- Domain registrations under .gov.np are free of cost.
- Domains are registered in a first-come-first-serve basis but terms and conditions must apply.
- It may take at least 4 working days to get your domains registered or modified, though it may take longer sometimes depending on the number of pending requests.
- Official request to NITC should be submitted while requesting for .gov.np domain registration.
- The DNS server will be the DNS of the NITC as directed by Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers(OPMCM) which are as follows:
1. Primary DNS: mechi.nitc.gov.np(202.45.144.2)
2. Secondary DNS: koshi.nitc.gov.np(202.45.144.3)
- The letter must include the following:
- Web server IP: IP of the web server where you want to host your website.
- MX Record(If available): Mail exchange record of your domain for email.
- The official request can be application letter from the corresponding agency and a registration form that is available below. (The registration form must contain valid administrator/technical contacts. Also, administrator's contact address in the form should be from the head of agency).
Website Hosting Information
- NITC hosts websites of government offices and organizations only.
- NITC provides hosting service for free of cost.
- Official request to NITC should be submitted while requesting for web hosting.
- NITC provides web space not exceeding to 1 GB for website hosting.
- NITC will provide Username and Password of cpanel for your desired domain.
- Website Security Audit Certificate should be submitted to NITC while requesting for hosting the website.
- The official request can be application letter from the corresponding agency and a registration form that is available below. (The registration form must contain valid administrator/technical contacts. Also, administrator's contact address in the form should be from the head of agency).
NOTE:
A domain name can be selected on your own, but depends in the availability of .NP ccTLD registrar's database.
